One Year Ago …..
Posted on: February 13, 2013
Today is the beginning of Lent. What are you giving up for Lent? If anything?. As a Catholic the idea of giving up something for Lent is ingrained and for me it marks the start of spring. I do not whine, cry, pine, or bitch abut Spring until Lent. So now that Lent is here, let the bitching’ begin!. I’m pining after some Spring!
Okay enough about that. What am I giving up for Lent? Since I have been on a buying spree that doesn’t seem to show any signs of letting up, I am giving up buying nail polish. Same thing I gave up last year.

I was going to do a green and blue crazy manicure. The first thing I did was gather up all my blue and green colors. I have enough blue. I have enough green. I like those colors separate and I like them together. But I did not come up with any combinations that I liked. This is what I came up with.

Sally Hansen Kwik-Dri one in blue, one in green, and one in pink. I like these combined. What do you think?
🌟🌟🌟 I really like the SH Kwik-Dri but I am only giving them 3 stars. They do dry quick and the colors are pretty, but they are a bit streaky and way thick. My problem with thick nail polish is I start to pick at it and then pretty soon it’s all picked off and then I will start to chew my nails, I know, disgusting, that’s why I don’t like thick polish.. The more I think of it, the more I should take a star away, but I won’t.
💰 🎉 👍Don’t forget about my giveaway going in now. Even though I ask you to name the colors of my manicure this is a random drawing and one winner will be chosen by <a href="http://Rafflecopter “>Rafflecopter.
A little more than a year ago I started this blog. I am so thankful for all my followers and for all of you who leave comments and for the support you’ve shown me. I am also so thankful for my family and my friends who have also shown me more support of this little blog than I imagined. I get a kick out of my friend Jud mentioning something that I’d written on here. And I appreciate that he goes on Google to see who comes up first in nail polish searches and tells me what I should do..
I love that Jilly and Ashley read my blog, once in while because if not for them, I would not have started this. And it is because of them, I will never stop.

Ashley is on the left and my beautiful daughter Jilly is on the right. For the record, one more time, Ashley is not my daughter. But she is my girl. I raised her along with her Dad and her step-mom.
I have 2 kids, Drew and Jilly. They are my life and the most interesting, funny, smart, accomplished people I know.
Again thank you for all the love and support you all show me!!
💅As always, thanks for stopping by.

That was my lucky day because it quickly led me to your blog. I read the past entries soon after that and haven’t missed a post since. I appreciate your skill, knowledge and generous heart. Your integrity is unmatched. I admire that. Continued success!

Happy Anniversary, Judi! ♥ I love your crazy mani and would never think to put those colors together. I’m no longer a practicing Catholic, but when I was, the thing I did for Lent was to hold my tongue (I’m kind of opinionated and…not gonna lie…a bit of a smart ass, so it was quite a challenge – lol). I was taught not so much to give something up, physically, but to do something that would benefit me on a spiritual level. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that giving “things” up doesn’t do your spirit good – of course it does! I’m just speaking from my experience! ♥ Happy Valentine’s Day, sweet lady!

Thanks Lu! I’m not really practicing anymore either but the Lent thing doesn’t go away. I have a friend who gives up coffee every year for Lent, she drinks de-caf. That always makes me laugh. I’ve done the I’m not saying bad words, won’t say the eff word, etc… But those never stick. Sounds like you and I are a lot more alike than I thought. Happy Valentines Day to you too!

Well, that’s just too funny about your friend and her coffee! I guess in her world, decaf isn’t really coffee?! Love it!
