NOTD: butter LONDON Emerald Green Choices
Posted on: January 15, 2013
Love that the color chosen this year by Pantone as color of the year is emerald. One of my all time favorite colors. I am a May baby (the best kind to be) and my birthstone is emerald. I don’t have a lot of emeralds, but I have a few. I love this color.
This year butter LONDON had released these 2 colors for Holiday 2012 before emerald was named color of the year.
(**Please note: the following 2 nail polishes were sent to me for review by a PR company. I was not asked to write a blog posting or make any other forms of public review. All opinions on this polish are my own, and this is what I honestly think of these polishes. )

I have on Thames with Jack the Lad as an accent nail. This is such a hard color to capture! But, believe it or not, this is pretty close to what it looks like in regular light, at night.

In different light these are different colors. Emerald green is a deep, rich, somewhat mysterious color because it does change. I think it’s because the color itself has so much blue in it. Like all BL polishes this formula was perfect, coverage was good, dry time, all the usual things you look for in a polish, BL has down. They do such a good job with the formula, and the formula has been consistent across the board for me.

My favorite of these 2 is Jack the Lad. It is an emerald green with a micro glitter that looks like sand. There is gold, silver, white, and turquoise that sparkles in the right light. I love this formula from butter LONDON. This reminds me of All Hail the Queen . This is so hard to describe, but I will do my best. In regular house light it looks like a rich, deep green. When you look closer you can see the layer of sand sparkling. That’s the only way I know how to describe this effect of the micro glitters. It’s like a sparkling sandy beach with a rich deep green over it. Just gorgeous!

All Hail the Queen . This is an old picture I took of All Hail the Queen trying to show the shimmer and the micro glitter of this polish. I had a hard time describing this one as well.

You cannot go wrong with either one of these choices, if you are looking for an emerald green polish. Or, get both! They are different enough I could totally justify both colors in my collection.
I wish I could send you all a bottle of Jack the Lad or All Hail the Queen. I absolutely love this formula. butter LONDON is like no other in this regard. You all know I’m not crazy about glitter (except Lovely Jubbly, which I have worn to death this winter) but I am crazy about some sparkle. This polish provides the sparkle factor times 10.
You can purchase at their website butter LONDON
Or, also check out Nordstrom for most of their colors along with some exclusive to Nordstrom.
butter LONDON retails for $15. Yes, they have recently increased the price by $1. In this economy I do not hold it against them. You can usually find a sale, buy 2get 1 free, type of deal at Ulta and other places on the web.

The one and only Jack, the Lad. This is my friend’s baby boy on his 1st birthday. He turned 2 last October, such a big boy now, but still, oh so cute. I’m not just saying this, but this baby is truly one of the smartest babies I have ever known. Not counting my own 2 of course, but he just might be a bit, okay a lot smarter even than my own kids.
💅 As always, thanks for stopping by.
